Site VPN Privacy Policy
Site VPN is a browser extension for Microsoft Edge and Firefox, published by Blackcore tech. It sends the websites on your list through an HTTPS proxy server that you configure, and sends all other traffic directly.
What the extension keeps on your device
- Your settings, in the browser's extension storage: the site list, the mode, the proxy host, port, username and password, an optional device name, and a random device ID.
- In Microsoft Edge, the helper domains (such as image and video servers) that tabs of a listed site load, so that they use the same proxy.
- If browser sync is on, the browser syncs the site list through its own sync service. Everything else stays on the device.
The extension looks at the address of each request only to decide whether it goes through the proxy. It does not read or change the content of web pages.
What it sends, and where
- Web traffic: requests to the websites on your list (or to all websites, if you choose Enable for All) go through the proxy server you configured.
- Login: the proxy username and password are sent only to that proxy server.
- Usage report: while the proxy is in use, the extension reports to that server, at most once every 10 minutes, the proxy username, the random device ID and the device name. This lets the server's operator see which devices used it in the last 24 hours. The server deletes these reports after 24 hours.
What it does not do
The extension sends no data to Blackcore tech or to any third party, and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking.
The proxy server
The proxy server is run by whoever provides your proxy account. That operator is responsible for how the server handles the traffic that passes through it.
